Bathe the dog with a flea shampoo made for dogs
Apply a veterinarian-recommended flea treatment
Treat all pets in the household at the same time
Wash dog bedding, blankets, and soft toys in hot water
Vacuum carpets, rugs, furniture, and car interiors thoroughly
Empty the vacuum canister or dispose of the bag immediately
Clean areas where the dog sleeps and rests
Repeat flea treatment as directed on the product label
Contact a veterinarian if the infestation is severe or the dog is very young, old, sick, or pregnant
