Contact your high school’s registrar or records office
Submit a records request form (online or in person)
Provide identifying information (full legal name, date of birth, graduation year)
Specify what you need (official transcript, unofficial copy, or both)
Choose delivery method (electronic, mail, or pickup)
Pay any required fees
Request that official transcripts be sent directly to the receiving institution if needed
If you attended multiple schools, request transcripts from each school
If the school is closed or records are archived, contact the district office or state education agency for archived records
If you no longer know the school or district, search state/district directories or contact your state education agency
Use third-party transcript services only if they are authorized and you can verify credentials
For GED or HiSET, request scores/records from the relevant testing service instead of a high school transcript
Allow processing time and confirm receipt with the receiving school or agency
