Scrape off any excess makeup gently with a dull knife or spoon
Blot the stain with a clean dry cloth
Check the garment care label before treating
Apply a small amount of liquid dish soap or laundry detergent to the stain
Gently rub the soap into the fabric with your fingers or a soft cloth
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Rinse with cold water from the back of the stain
Repeat if needed
For oily makeup, use a little rubbing alcohol or makeup remover on a cotton pad
For powder makeup, brush off loose residue before washing
Wash the item in the warmest water safe for the fabric
Air dry until the stain is fully gone
Do not put the item in the dryer if the stain remains
Use stain remover before rewashing if necessary
