Dry the wood completely
Vacuum loose mold with a HEPA vacuum
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth
Clean with mild soap and water
Scrub gently with a soft brush
Use white vinegar on the moldy area
Let the vinegar sit for 10 to 15 minutes
Wipe the area clean
Dry the wood thoroughly
Apply baking soda paste for stubborn spots
Sand lightly if mold remains on unfinished wood
Clean up dust and debris after sanding
Disinfect with a wood-safe cleaner if needed
Seal or refinish the wood after it is fully dry
Fix the moisture source to prevent mold return
