How to Get Money Back from UPI Frauds?

Call your bank immediately and report the UPI fraud

Block your debit card, UPI ID, and internet banking if needed

Raise a dispute in your UPI app

Use the bank’s customer care and request a chargeback or reversal

File a complaint on the NPCI UPI dispute process through your bank

Report the fraud on the National Cyber Crime Portal

Call the cybercrime helpline 1930 as soon as possible

Save screenshots of the transaction, UPI ID, time, amount, and fraud details

Keep the complaint number, bank reference number, and cybercrime acknowledgment

Visit your bank branch if the issue is not resolved quickly

Follow up regularly with the bank and cybercrime authorities

If the money was sent to a wrong account by mistake, request the recipient bank to freeze the beneficiary account

If the fraud involved a merchant, ask for a merchant dispute or refund request

If the bank delays, escalate to the bank’s grievance redressal officer

File a complaint with the RBI Integrated Ombudsman if the bank does not resolve it

Do not delete messages, emails, or call records related to the fraud

Change your UPI PIN, passwords, and linked account security details after reporting

Check your account statements for any other unauthorized transactions
