Check the transaction status in your UPI app
If the transaction is pending, wait for automatic reversal
If the transaction failed but money was debited, note the UPI reference number
Raise a complaint in the UPI app
Contact your bank’s customer care
Contact the recipient and request a refund if the transfer was successful
Use the NPCI complaint portal if the issue is not resolved
Keep screenshots of the transaction, debit message, and reference number
Follow up regularly with the bank or app support
If needed, escalate the complaint to the banking ombudsman
