How To Make Blackened Salmon?

Pat salmon fillets dry

Mix paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper

Brush salmon lightly with melted butter or oil

Coat salmon evenly with the spice mixture

Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high to high heat

Add a small amount of oil to the skillet

Place salmon skin-side down if using skin-on fillets

Cook for 3 to 4 minutes without moving

Flip and cook for 2 to 4 minutes more until cooked through

Remove from heat and rest briefly

Serve immediately with lemon wedges if desired
