Scrape off any excess paint with a dull knife or spoon
Blot the stain with a clean paper towel or cloth
Apply a small amount of dish soap or liquid laundry detergent directly to the stain
Gently work the soap into the fabric with your fingers or a soft brush
Rinse the stained area with warm water
Repeat the soap and rinse steps until the stain lifts
For stubborn stains, apply rubbing alcohol, mineral spirits, or a stain remover safe for the fabric
Wash the clothing in the hottest water safe for the fabric
Check that the stain is gone before drying
Air-dry the clothing if any stain remains
Repeat treatment if needed before machine drying
