Wash all bedding, clothing, and washable fabrics in hot water
Dry all washed items on the highest heat setting for at least 30 minutes
Vacuum mattresses, bed frames, baseboards, carpets, and furniture thoroughly
Empty the vacuum contents into a sealed bag and discard it outside immediately
Steam treat seams, tufts, cracks, and crevices with a high-heat steamer
Strip the bed and keep all bedding off the floor
Place mattress and box spring encasements on after treatment
Move the bed away from walls and other furniture
Place bed bug interceptors under bed legs
Seal cracks, gaps, and wall openings with caulk
Reduce clutter and bag infested items for treatment
Use a labeled bed bug insecticide only as directed on cracks and crevices
Repeat inspection and treatment the next day
Call a licensed pest control professional if the infestation is severe
