How to Get Rid of Coyotes?
Remove food sources: secure trash, pet food, bird seed, and compost
Feed pets indoors and bring bowls inside after use
Keep cats indoors and supervise small dogs outside
Install tall fencing, ideally with a coyote roller or angled top
Use motion-activated lights, sprinklers, or alarms
Clear brush, tall grass, and dense cover near your home
Pick up fallen fruit and eliminate attractants in yards
Never feed coyotes or leave food outdoors
Make noise and appear large if a coyote approaches
Throw small objects near, not at, the coyote to scare it away
Use a whistle, air horn, or shaker can to haze coyotes
Walk dogs on a short leash
Avoid walking pets at dawn, dusk, and night
Report aggressive or unusually fearless coyotes to local wildlife authorities
Contact animal control or a licensed wildlife professional for persistent problems
Use legal trapping or removal only through trained professionals where allowed
Seal gaps under sheds, decks, and crawl spaces
Remove outdoor water sources when possible
Coordinate with neighbors to reduce shared attractants
If a coyote is acting sick, injured, or aggressive, keep distance and call authorities immediately
