Wash all bedding, blankets, pillow covers, and washable fabric items in hot water
Dry all washed items on the highest heat setting
Vacuum the mattress, bed frame, carpet, rugs, baseboards, and under furniture thoroughly
Empty the vacuum canister or dispose of the vacuum bag immediately after use
Steam clean carpets, rugs, and upholstered furniture if possible
Treat the bedroom with a flea spray or flea powder labeled for indoor use
Apply flea treatment to pets and all areas they frequent, following product instructions
Keep pets out of the bedroom until treatment is complete and dry
Wash pet bedding in hot water and dry on high heat
Seal and dispose of vacuum contents and any collected debris in an outdoor trash bin
Repeat vacuuming daily for at least two weeks
Use flea traps near the bed and along walls
Reduce clutter so fleas have fewer places to hide
Inspect and treat cracks, corners, and under the bed
Continue treating pets and the home until no fleas are seen
Contact a pest control professional if the infestation persists
