Let the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out between waterings
Reduce overwatering
Remove standing water from saucers and trays
Replace or refresh the top layer of potting soil
Repot plants in fresh, sterile potting mix if infestation is severe
Use yellow sticky traps near affected plants
Apply beneficial nematodes to the soil
Use Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (BTI) in watering treatments
Cover the soil surface with sand, gravel, or diatomaceous earth
Remove decaying leaves and organic debris from the soil surface
Quarantine infested plants from healthy plants
Inspect new plants before bringing them indoors
Use bottom watering when possible
Improve drainage in pots and containers
Empty and clean plant trays regularly
Repeat treatments consistently until adults and larvae are gone
