Strain your urine to catch the stone for testing

Rest when pain is severe
Follow any prescribed medications exactly as directed

Avoid dehydration from heavy sweating, alcohol, or excessive caffeine
Limit salt intake
Do not delay medical care if you have fever, vomiting, severe pain, trouble urinating, or blood clots in urine
Seek urgent care if the stone is large, pain is uncontrolled, or symptoms worsen
