How to Get Rid of Gnats in Soil?

Let the top 1–2 inches of soil dry out between waterings

Reduce watering frequency and avoid overwatering

Remove standing water from saucers and trays

Replace the top layer of infested soil with fresh, dry soil

Repot heavily infested plants with sterile potting mix

Cover the soil surface with a layer of sand, diatomaceous earth, or fine gravel

Use yellow sticky traps near the plant

Apply BTI to the soil according to label directions

Use hydrogen peroxide diluted with water on the soil

Remove decaying leaves, mulch, and plant debris from the soil surface

Quarantine infested plants from healthy plants
