Open Microsoft Word
Click the View tab
Check the Ruler box
If the ruler still does not appear, make sure you are in Print Layout view
On Mac, click View and select Ruler
To show the vertical ruler, go to File, then Options, then Advanced, and enable Show vertical ruler in Print Layout view under Display
