Tilt your head to the side and gently pull your earlobe in different directions

Hop on one foot while keeping the affected ear tilted downward
Create a vacuum by cupping your palm tightly over the ear and releasing it
Use gravity by bending forward with the ear facing down
Dry the outer ear with a clean towel
Use a hair dryer on the lowest heat and speed, held at least 12 inches away
Yawn, swallow, or chew gum to help open the Eustachian tubes
Try the Valsalva maneuver gently by pinching your nose and blowing softly with your mouth closed
Use over-the-counter drying ear drops if you do not have a perforated eardrum or ear infection
Avoid inserting cotton swabs, fingers, or other objects into the ear
Seek medical care if pain, drainage, hearing loss, dizziness, or persistent water remains in the ear
