Unplug the iPhone from any cable or accessory immediately
Hold the iPhone with the charging port facing downward
Gently tap the iPhone against your hand to help release water
Leave the iPhone in a dry, well-ventilated area
Let the charging port air-dry for at least 30 minutes
Avoid using a hair dryer, compressed air, or heat source
Do not insert cotton swabs, paper towels, or other objects into the port
If a liquid detection alert appears, wait until the alert clears before charging
If the port still seems wet, let it dry for several hours
If the iPhone was exposed to salt water or another liquid, rinse the outside with fresh water only if needed and dry it thoroughly
If the phone will not charge after drying, contact Apple Support or a repair professional
