Blot the stain immediately with a clean cloth or paper towel
Do not rub the stain
Sprinkle salt on the stain to absorb excess wine
Rinse the fabric with cold water from the back of the stain
Apply liquid laundry detergent or dish soap directly to the stain
Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes
Gently blot or rub the fabric together
Rinse again with cold water
Repeat if needed before washing
Wash the clothing in the coldest water safe for the fabric
Check that the stain is gone before drying
Do not put the item in the dryer until the stain is removed
For white fabrics, use a stain remover or oxygen bleach if needed
For delicate fabrics, follow the care label or use professional cleaning
