Equip the armor piece in your hand
Right-click the zombie with the armor piece
Use a dispenser to place armor on the zombie
In Creative mode, spawn the zombie with armor already equipped
Use commands to summon a zombie with armor, such as `/summon zombie ~ ~ ~ {ArmorItems:[…]}`
Make sure the zombie is not already wearing the same armor slot item
