Preheat the grill to medium heat
Clean and oil the grates
Place bratwurst on the grill over indirect heat
Grill for 15 to 20 minutes, turning occasionally
Move brats over direct heat for the last 2 to 3 minutes to brown
Cook until the internal temperature reaches 160°F
Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes
Serve in buns with desired toppings
