Choose a healthy, non-flowering stem from a rose bush
Cut a 6 to 8 inch section with at least 3 to 5 nodes
Make the bottom cut just below a node at a 45-degree angle
Make the top cut just above a node
Remove flowers, buds, and most leaves
Keep only 1 or 2 leaf sets at the top if needed
Dip the cut end in rooting hormone
Fill a pot with moist, well-draining potting mix
Insert the cutting into the soil with at least 2 nodes buried
Firm the soil around the cutting
Water lightly
Cover the cutting with a clear plastic bag or humidity dome
Place the pot in bright, indirect light
Keep the soil evenly moist, not soggy
Vent the cover occasionally to prevent mold
Check for root growth after a few weeks
Transplant the cutting once strong roots and new growth appear
