How To Grow Sugar Cane?

Choose a warm, frost-free location with full sun

Use fertile, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter

Prepare the soil by loosening it deeply and removing weeds

Plant healthy sugar cane stalks or setts with visible buds

Cut stalks into sections with at least 2 to 3 buds each

Lay the setts horizontally or plant them at a slight angle

Cover the setts with 2 to 4 inches of soil

Space rows enough to allow easy access and growth

Water immediately after planting

Keep the soil consistently moist during establishment

Mulch around the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds

Fertilize regularly with a balanced or nitrogen-rich fertilizer

Remove weeds frequently to reduce competition

Hill soil around the stalks as they grow to support them

Protect plants from pests and diseases

Harvest when stalks are mature and thick

Cut stalks close to the ground and leave roots for regrowth
