How To Hang Drywall?

Measure the wall or ceiling area

Cut drywall sheets to fit

Mark studs or joists

Lift the first sheet into place

Leave a small gap at the floor

Fasten drywall to studs or joists with drywall screws

Space screws evenly and keep them slightly below the surface

Stagger seams between rows

Cut openings for outlets, switches, and fixtures

Hang remaining sheets

Tape and mud the seams

Let compound dry

Sand the surface smooth

Apply a second and third coat of compound as needed

Sand again after each coat

Prime and paint the drywall
