Defeat the Ender Dragon
Collect the dragon egg from the End portal fountain
Place a solid block under the dragon egg
Right-click the dragon egg
Break the block beneath it so the egg falls
Use a piston to push the dragon egg
Use a torch or other block to make it drop as an item
Pick up the dragon egg
Place it again where you want it to stay
