How To Help A Burn?

Move the person away from the source of the burn

Cool the burn under cool running water for 20 minutes

Remove rings, watches, belts, or tight clothing before swelling starts

Cover the burn with a clean, non-stick dressing or cling film

Keep the person warm

Give pain relief if appropriate and safe to do so

Do not apply ice, butter, toothpaste, or creams

Do not break blisters

Do not remove anything stuck to the burn

Seek urgent medical help for large, deep, or severe burns

Seek urgent medical help for burns on the face, hands, feet, genitals, or major joints

Seek urgent medical help for chemical or electrical burns

Call emergency services if the person has trouble breathing, is unconscious, or the burn is extensive
