Hold baby upright for 10 to 15 minutes
Burp baby gently during and after feeds
Feed smaller amounts more slowly
Check that baby has a good latch during breastfeeding
Use a slower-flow nipple if bottle-feeding
Pause feeding if baby seems to be gulping air
Offer a pacifier if baby wants to suck
Gently rub or pat baby’s back
Keep baby calm and avoid overstimulation
Wait for hiccups to stop on their own
Contact a pediatrician if hiccups are frequent, severe, or happen with vomiting, poor feeding, or breathing trouble
