Open Telegram
Long-press the chat you want to hide
Tap Archive
To keep it hidden, disable the Archive folder from staying at the top in Settings
On Android, go to Settings
Tap Chat Settings
Turn off Keep Archived Chats
On iPhone, go to Settings
Tap Chats
Turn off Keep Archived Chats
To hide a secret chat, delete it from the chat list after use
To lock Telegram, go to Settings
Tap Privacy and Security
Tap Passcode Lock
Enable Passcode Lock
Use a folder to separate chats you want to keep out of view
Mute chats you do not want to notice easily
Use Telegram’s archive feature instead of leaving chats in the main list
