How to Hold a Golf Club Correctly?

Place the club handle across the fingers of your lead hand, not deep in the palm

Close your lead hand around the grip with the thumb slightly to the trail side

Position the lead hand so the “V” between thumb and index finger points toward your trail shoulder

Set the trail hand below the lead hand on the grip

Wrap the trail hand fingers around the club

Place the trail thumb slightly left of center on the grip for a neutral hold

Align the trail hand “V” toward your chin or trail shoulder

Keep both hands connected on the grip

Hold the club firmly but not tightly

Maintain a neutral wrist position

Ensure the grip pressure is even in both hands

Choose an overlapping, interlocking, or ten-finger grip based on comfort

Keep the clubface square when setting your hands

Recheck hand placement before each swing
