Sit upright or in a semi-upright position
Turn onto your side if lying down
Practice slow, deep breathing if tolerated
Use prescribed oxygen exactly as directed
Check the oxygen device is fitted correctly
Keep the airway clear of mucus
Drink fluids if allowed and not restricted
Rest and avoid physical exertion
Use a pulse oximeter to monitor oxygen levels
Seek urgent medical care if oxygen stays low or symptoms worsen
Call emergency services if severe shortness of breath, blue lips, confusion, or chest pain occur
