Type the base number or letter
Select the character you want to make an exponent
Click the Home tab
Click the Superscript button in the Font group
Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + =
On Mac, use Command + Shift + =
To turn off superscript, click the Superscript button again or use the shortcut again
