Place the cursor where you want the degree symbol
Press Ctrl + Shift + @, then press Space
Or type 00B0 and press Alt + X
Or go to Insert > Symbol > More Symbols
Select the degree symbol and click Insert
On Windows, you can also hold Alt and type 0176 on the numeric keypad
On Mac, press Option + Shift + 8
