Choose the location for the cat door
Check the door, wall, or panel for wiring, pipes, or structural obstructions
Measure your cat and the cat door opening
Mark the cutout outline using the template provided with the cat door
Drill pilot holes at the corners of the marked outline
Cut along the outline with a jigsaw or appropriate cutting tool
Remove the cutout piece and clean the edges
Fit the cat door frame into the opening
Secure the cat door according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Seal any gaps with caulk or weatherstripping if needed
Test the flap or opening to ensure it moves freely
Train your cat to use the door
