Choose the correct anchor for the wall type and weight
Mark the spot where the anchor will go
Drill a pilot hole if the anchor requires one
Push or tap the anchor into the hole until it is flush with the wall
Insert the screw into the anchor
Tighten the screw until secure, but do not overtighten
Attach the item to the screw or anchor as needed
