Mark the drilling spot with painter’s tape
Use a carbide-tipped or diamond drill bit
Put on safety glasses
Start at low speed
Hold the drill steady and perpendicular to the tile
Apply light pressure only
Keep the bit cool with water if needed
Drill through the tile surface slowly
Switch to a masonry bit after passing through the tile if drilling into wall material
Clean the hole and remove dust
Insert the anchor or fastener carefully
