Measure the center-to-center distance between the screw holes on the existing handle
If there is no handle, measure the distance between the centers of the drilled holes where the handle will go
Measure in inches or millimeters, depending on the handle specification
Check the handle length from end to end if you need to compare overall size
Measure the cabinet door or drawer width to choose a handle that fits proportionally
Measure the projection, which is how far the handle sticks out from the cabinet surface
Measure the handle’s height if clearance is important
Confirm the screw length needed by measuring the cabinet door or drawer thickness
Verify the hole spacing against standard sizes such as 3 in, 5 in, 96 mm, or 128 mm
Use a ruler or tape measure and measure from the center of one hole to the center of the other hole
For single-hole knobs, measure the diameter of the knob base and the existing hole size
Double-check all measurements before ordering replacement handles
