How to Cut Formica?

Measure and mark the cut line on the Formica sheet

Apply masking tape over the cut line to reduce chipping

Use a straightedge or guide for a straight cut

Score the surface lightly with a utility knife along the marked line

Cut with a laminate cutter, fine-tooth circular saw blade, jigsaw with fine blade, or router

Support the sheet fully on a stable work surface

Cut from the back side when possible to minimize visible chipping

Use slow, steady pressure and avoid forcing the blade

Clamp the material securely before cutting

Sand or file the edge lightly after cutting if needed

Wear safety glasses and a dust mask
