Remove the old tub if needed
Inspect the subfloor, framing, and plumbing
Repair any damage before installation
Measure the tub space and confirm the new tub fits
Dry-fit the tub in place
Install or adjust the drain and overflow assembly
Level the tub using a mortar bed or manufacturer-approved support
Connect the drain to the plumbing
Secure the tub flange to wall studs as required
Install the wall surround, backer board, or waterproofing
Seal joints and gaps with waterproof caulk
Reconnect water lines if applicable
Test the drain, overflow, and water supply for leaks
Finish surrounding walls and trim
Clean the area and verify the tub is stable and fully sealed
