Turn off the water supply to the bathroom
Remove the faucet, spout, handles, and drain assembly
Remove the overflow plate and drain linkage
Cut and remove any caulk around the tub edges
Remove nearby wall panels, tile, or surround material as needed
Disconnect the plumbing connections to the tub
Check for and remove any screws, nails, or fasteners securing the tub
Cut through any adhesive or mortar holding the tub in place
Pry the tub loose from the framing or subfloor
Protect the floor and surrounding surfaces
Lift the tub out with assistance if needed
Break the tub into smaller pieces if it is too large to remove intact
Remove all debris and clean the area
Inspect the framing, subfloor, and plumbing after removal
