Turn off water supply to the bathroom
Remove the tub faucet, drain, and overflow assembly
Remove caulk and any trim around the tub
Disconnect surrounding wall materials as needed
Remove access panels or cut an opening if necessary
Disconnect plumbing lines attached to the tub
Remove fasteners securing the tub to the wall or floor
Break the old tub into sections if needed for removal
Carry the old tub out of the bathroom
Inspect the subfloor and framing for damage
Repair or replace damaged subfloor, joists, or wall framing
Measure the opening to confirm the new tub fits
Set the new tub in place to test fit
Level the tub using shims if needed
Connect the drain and overflow assembly
Reconnect water lines and fixtures
Secure the tub to the framing according to manufacturer instructions
Install wall backer board or surround materials
Seal joints and edges with waterproof caulk
Reinstall trim, faucet, and any removed access panels
Turn water back on and test for leaks
Finish surrounding wall and floor surfaces as needed
