Check your computer/laptop model and current BIOS version
Download the correct BIOS update from the manufacturer’s support/download page
Read the BIOS update release notes and confirm compatibility
Prepare a stable power source (plug in AC adapter; use battery backup if available)
Back up important data
Close all applications and disable sleep/hibernation
Confirm you have enough storage for the update utility (if needed)
Use the manufacturer’s recommended update method (choose one):
BIOS/UEFI update tool inside Windows (run the provided installer/update utility)
BIOS update via vendor utility (from the manufacturer’s bootable USB or supported environment)
Flash BIOS from within BIOS/UEFI setup (use the built-in update feature if provided)
Flash BIOS from DOS/EFI (use the manufacturer’s provided boot media and flash tool, if specified)
If using a USB flash drive:
Format the USB drive as FAT32 (if the manufacturer specifies this)
Copy the BIOS file and any required flash utility files exactly as instructed
Create the bootable USB only if the manufacturer provides instructions or a tool
Start the BIOS update process and follow on-screen prompts
Do not interrupt power, restart, close the tool, or remove USB during flashing
Wait for completion until the system indicates success or automatically restarts
After reboot, enter BIOS/UEFI setup to confirm the updated version
Load BIOS defaults if the manufacturer recommends it
Reconfigure any required BIOS settings (boot order, RAID/AHCI, XMP/DOCP, virtualization, secure boot)
Verify system stability and check for any additional firmware/driver recommendations from the manufacturer
