Disconnect the negative battery cable
Relieve fuel system pressure
Drain or lower the fuel tank if needed
Raise and support the vehicle safely
Remove any skid plates or shields blocking access
Disconnect the fuel lines, electrical connectors, and vent hoses
Support the fuel tank with a jack
Remove the tank straps or mounting hardware
Lower the fuel tank carefully
Clean the area around the fuel pump module
Remove the fuel pump retaining ring or fasteners
Lift out the old fuel pump assembly
Replace the fuel pump seal or O-ring
Install the new fuel pump assembly
Secure the retaining ring or fasteners
Reinstall the fuel tank
Reconnect the fuel lines, vent hoses, and electrical connectors
Reinstall straps, shields, and skid plates
Refill the tank with fuel
Reconnect the negative battery cable
Turn the ignition key on and off several times to prime the system
Check for leaks
Start the engine and verify proper operation
