Choose the indoor and outdoor unit locations
Verify electrical capacity and circuit requirements
Mount the indoor air handler bracket
Drill a hole for the refrigerant lines, drain line, and wiring
Install the outdoor condenser on a stable pad or wall bracket
Run the refrigerant lines, drain line, and communication cable
Connect the indoor unit to the line set and wiring
Connect the outdoor unit to the line set and power supply
Seal and insulate all line-set penetrations
Vacuum the refrigerant lines to remove air and moisture
Open the refrigerant valves or charge the system as required
Test for leaks
Power on the system and verify operation
Check airflow, cooling or heating, and condensate drainage
Secure all covers and clean up the installation area
