Check that your device meets Windows 11 system requirements (CPU, RAM, storage, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot)
Back up important files to an external drive or cloud storage
Download the Windows 11 Installation Assistant from Microsoft
Run the Installation Assistant and follow the prompts to upgrade to Windows 11
If using an installation USB, download the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool from Microsoft
Open Media Creation Tool, select “Create installation media,” choose language/edition, and select USB flash drive
Create the Windows 11 bootable USB
Restart the PC and boot from the USB (use the boot menu key such as F12, Esc, or F9; key varies by manufacturer)
On the Windows Setup screen, select language, time, and keyboard, then click Next
Click Install now
Enter a product key if prompted, or choose “I don’t have a product key” (if applicable)
Select the Windows edition and click Next
Accept the license terms and click Next
Choose “Custom: Install Windows only” to do a clean install, or “Upgrade” if offered
Select the drive/partition to install on and click Next
Follow on-screen prompts to complete installation (region, keyboard, account setup)
Connect to the internet and complete Windows setup (updates, sign-in, privacy settings)
Install required drivers (chipset, graphics, network, audio) and verify Windows Update is fully completed
