Keep a safe distance and do not touch it with bare hands
Use a long-handled tool to trap or pin it if necessary
Spray it with a pesticide labeled for scorpions, following the product instructions
Pour boiling water only into outdoor burrows or hiding spots, if appropriate and safe
Crush it with a heavy object from a distance if you must kill it immediately
Place a sticky trap nearby to catch it
Seal cracks, gaps, and entry points to prevent more scorpions from entering
Wear thick gloves and closed-toe shoes when handling the area
Call pest control if the scorpion is in a hard-to-reach or dangerous place
