Focus on carpets, rugs, edges of rooms, under furniture, and pet sleeping areas
Treat the yard with a product labeled for fleas if fleas are present outdoors (follow label directions)
Use an effective flea treatment on all pets (topical or oral) as directed by the veterinarian or product label
Use a flea comb on pets daily until fleas stop
Keep pets off treated areas until the product is dry or as directed
Remove pet bedding from the home daily and wash frequently during treatment
Repeat home treatment as directed by the product (often after 7–14 days)
Keep pets on consistent flea prevention year-round if fleas are a recurring problem
