How To Know If Eggs Are Bad?
Check the expiration or sell-by date
Look for cracks, slime, or powdery residue on the shell
Smell the egg after cracking it open
Discard it if it has a strong sulfur, rotten, or unusual odor
Check for unusual discoloration in the egg white or yolk
Discard it if the egg white is pink, green, or iridescent
Discard it if the yolk is green, gray, or moldy
Do a float test in water
Discard it if it floats
Discard it if the shell feels unusually sticky or slimy
Discard it if the egg has been stored improperly or for too long
Discard it if there is any sign of mold inside or outside the egg
