Open the person’s Instagram profile
Check whether their profile shows a “Follows you” label under their name
Tap your followers list and search for their username
Tap your following list and search for their username
Use Instagram’s search bar to find their profile and check the follow status
If their account is private, send a follow request and see whether they already follow you back
Look for mutual followers or shared interactions, but confirm through the profile or follower lists
If you cannot see a “Follows you” label, they may not follow you or Instagram may not display it in that view
