Breathing becomes irregular, shallow, or very slow
Long pauses may occur between breaths
Skin may become pale, bluish, gray, or mottled
Hands and feet may feel cold
Pulse may become weak, fast, or hard to find
Blood pressure may drop
The person may sleep most of the time or be hard to wake
Confusion, restlessness, or agitation may increase
The person may stop eating or drinking
Swallowing may become difficult
Urine output may decrease
The person may become less responsive to voice or touch
Eyes may stay partly open or look glazed
The jaw may relax and the mouth may fall open
Breathing may include noisy secretions or a rattling sound
Muscle strength may fade significantly
The person may withdraw from surroundings
If there is sudden severe pain, trouble breathing, or loss of consciousness, call emergency services immediately
