Measure the window width and height
Install a double curtain rod or two separate rods
Hang the sheer curtains on the inner rod
Hang the heavier curtains on the outer rod
Place the sheer layer closest to the window
Place the blackout or decorative layer in front
Make sure both layers are centered on the window
Allow enough rod width for both layers to stack open
Match curtain lengths for a neat look
Use curtain rings, clips, or grommets as needed
Adjust fullness so both layers drape evenly
Steam or iron the curtains after hanging
Tie back the outer layer if desired
