Open Instagram and go to your Direct Messages
Open the chat containing the message
Press and hold the message
Tap the heart reaction if it appears
If heart reaction is not shown, select the like or heart option from the reaction bar
To remove the like, press and hold the message again and tap the heart reaction once more
